" My purpose in life is to write my verses, it is  (how I am within clarity), it is the reason of my birth, my content.  It is truth that through my writings, I am allowed to lower my ego.  It is truth that because I kiss-pure this free-will that drips of me without worry or sense of direction or borders, that I am calm in soul. It is truth that when I am within the trance of writing my verse-free , I feel that my wholeness is as rare as the eyelash of an orange sunflower, and at that exact moment, yet still imperfect, I understand, that I am a beautiful man. It is truth, that through my poetry my blessed and suffering heart serves humanity ".  -  Fadi

    a gift of understanding

this delicate, unselfish work is a supper for the hungry spirit… never aggressive or ostentatious, the message that each verse carries is so pure…the degree of recognition and sympathy that each does stir is so powerful…and the collective weight of the emotions evoked by these is so immense, that the pages seem to feel heavy in my hands . our poet has a deep understanding of the truthful and the beautiful, which is demonstrated in the verses as a prayer for these things, and challenges us all to question “what is of value?”...”what is our truth?” the answer he hears and the explanation he offers is so clear and plain that I am inclined to feel embarrassed for forgetting to hear it myself…but instead I choose to feel grateful for the reminder…this work is such a treasure… reading it feels like waking up.

    confirmation

how refreshing in this day and age to read a book so simple in it's message, it makes me feel like taking a journey somewhere and leave my daily doings behind, it seems this poet is ahead of the 'game', or atleast in the game , which it seems most people are not in this mode of life. i never ever give the highest rating in whatever i rate, and i read and rate many books and movies, and love to be involved with surveys, so that 's the only reason that i wont give this book a 5 rating, i will tell people about this book, and hope to read more of this poets writings in the future.

Excerpts from " 9 " - The original writings of Fadi

    The monk asked the poet

“Do you trust the poetry ?”

    The poet said

    “I trust the passion”

    The monk asked the poet

“Do you trust the woman ?”

    The poet said

    “I trust her beauty”

    The monk asked

“Do you trust the heart ?”

    The poet said

“I trust the time between the heart-beats” –

    As it was

She showed me the treasure beneath her eyelashes

    As it is

    God carved love

From the whole of her face –

One day, the heart and the brain were needing to be washed in an Asian sea

    I noticed of this

That the brain bathed in the physical of the water

And the heart bathed in the soul of the water

And though it seemed both were not dirty

    Only one was clean –

Strange that the human will play and speak with an animal

Because they are “like a human”

Yet that same human will eat an animal

    Because they are not

    “like a human” –

    Exquisite

Is the voice of the began searching for how to ask for half eaten insects besides palaces

Searching for the dignity in their shame

    Exquisite

Is the voice of the beggar

    Because it is sincere –

    As it is

My eyes see on the trains of Sri Lanka

    to the left, a “king”

    to the right, a “gypsy”

    how vast is my ignorance

if I shall define them by what they are instead of who they are –

    Smile sweet woman

    And all which is tarnished

    Becomes a museum

    Free of illness –

    One day

    I gave to a beggar

I eyed that the beggar was shy in shame

    And so it was

The next day I gave again to the same beggar

    But this time

I turned my face away –

The “beautiful” woman may capture the man

    But the passionate woman

    Shall free the man –

    As it was

My brain purposely found “food” and fed itself

My heart accidentally found “food” and fed itself

    Yet one is starved

    And one not –

And the frog from the well said to the frog from the river

    “not strange

When the man spends gold for the woman

She shall love from her head,

When the man spends dreams for the woman

She shall love from her stomach" –

The same lips of the woman which spits of fire

    Shall spit of pure love

As a man I understand this far

As a poet I understand this near –

    The pigeons sang

“the poet in the gutter is still a poet

    a king in the palace

Is still only a king” –

Strange that one can harm the heart without knowing

    And walk on

Continuing the monotony of a day –

Ask a child to imagine a world without chocolate

Ask a poet to imagine a  world without the woman of native lashes

    The answer of one

is the answer of the other –

    Kind woman

set your sun on my tongue so my taste shall grow

    kind woman

set your breath on my Babylon skin

so my bones shall know that all beauty comes from your breath –

The difference between a misunderstood man and a common man

Is but one heart beat –

    As it shall be

Only when a woman shows her faults to me

Does she appeal to me –

It is truth that the heart and the brain rise from the same roots

    Yet achieve different misfortunes –

The bird asked to the worm

“are you of love with her or are you of love for her ?”

    The worm answered

    “I am of love

    Because of her” –

The man cannot properly touch the woman if his hands are filled with doubt

Just as the poet cannot properly verse

If the hands are empty of doubt –

    It is narrow

    The vision

To judge one woman “more” beautiful

    Than another –

    It is truth

The largest democracy in the world

    Resides

    In your chest –

    If you know one thing

    Know you can love

If you can know two things

    You know to much –

What her face does for the poet

    Is the same

As what the dolphins do for the sea

It allows smiles to survive –

Free the prophet that is your heart

    and rise to sky

    Your tide –
